BEAUTY EDIT

Calgary, Alberta, Canada | 2021

Beauty Edit is a medical aesthetics clinic and is dedicated to reimagining the patient experience by shifting the perception of medical aesthetics treatments from intimidating to approachable.  The goal for the design of the space was to create something as equally approachable and explicit, therefore we took cues from the sculptural form of the body. We let this narrative inform a soft movement throughout the space, creating a connective energy that encourages guests to flow through the open/public and closed/private spaces.

A simple play on public vs private space and a restrained material pallet aid to evoke a spatial experience that echo’s the client’s brand ethos.  The clinic's intimate treatment rooms and other private functions are strategically located in the space as stand-alone pods with guests free to move around them, and engage with the open spaces in-between. Guests first enter a small reception area and retail space before being led to a waiting lounge prior to their treatments. Tucked away between the treatment pods is the patient lounge, this area is the heart of the guest experience, providing clients with a private space to decompress. The lounge is also used for staff gatherings and community round table events.

The curved surfaces can be clad in various finishes allowing future Beauty Edit locations to be tailored to different demographics and material palettes while maintaining a consistent visual language.
